Since 2009, the Department of Defence and DHA have been running a program to progressively upgrade both the on and off base national housing portfolios. The program is designed to ensure that homes meet today’s standards and are retained in sought after locations.
The nature of the upgrades is categorised as major works and generally includes all new:
- kitchen, bathrooms and laundry
- floor and window coverings
- joinery
- hardware, fittings and fixtures
- hard and soft landscaping.
The program is set to continue over the next 6 years in the following locations with a budget of $160M:
